UNLA supports the initiative “One Car for One Veteran: Zero Customs Duties”

The Ukrainian National Lobbyists Association supports the initiative to introduce zero customs duties on cars for veterans based on the principle of “one car per veteran.” This refers to the possibility of importing both new and used vehicles without paying customs duties.

The initiative has already been presented to the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine and has received support from veterans’ communities. Two bills are currently being finalized to enshrine the relevant mechanism in law.

The association’s position is to fully support this model as a practical tool for enhancing veterans’ mobility and their integration into civilian life. As part of this effort, we plan to send official letters to the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and to members of parliament involved in drafting legislative changes, particularly to the key proponents of these initiatives.

The UNLA’s coordination of this initiative will be led by Zhanna Hrusko, the chair of the association’s Vinnytsia chapter, a lawyer, and a lobbyist.

The initiative is based on a clear fundamental principle—one benefit per person—which is intended to minimize the risk of abuse while ensuring targeted support for veterans.
