Vice-President of the Ukrainian National Lobbyists Association on recovery of damages from Russia: large companies have filed lawsuits

In the studio of United Action TV (London), Anna Yurchenko, a journalist of the Pryamyi TV channel, spoke with Oleksandr Chernykh, a lawyer and the Chairman of the Committee on the Enforcement of Decisions of the Ukrainian National Bar Association.

During the broadcast, the expert spoke about the key lawsuits that are ongoing in international instances against the Russian Federation. In particular, the cases of Naftogaz of Ukraine, Oschadbank and other companies that have already received arbitration awards for compensation for lost assets in Crimea.

Oleksandr Chernykh noted that large Ukrainian companies are currently preparing new claims to international arbitration in connection with the full-scale aggression in 2022. According to him, the amount of damage caused is measured in hundreds of billions of dollars, and the processes are carried out in accordance with international investment protection agreements.

They also discussed new EU and UK sanctions, the use of frozen Russian assets to rebuild Ukraine, and the fight against sanctions circumvention through cryptocurrency exchanges.
