Oleksiy Shevchuk, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian National Lobbyists Association, called for exemption of taxpayers from criminal liability
Oleksiy Shevchuk, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian National Lobbyists Association, attorney Oleksiy Shevchuk, has initiated an urgent revision of the procedure for exempting taxpayers from criminal liability in case of voluntary payment of tax liabilities.
In his opinion, the introduction of a clear and transparent mechanism will significantly reduce the number of criminal proceedings and relieve the employees of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine.
“If a taxpayer intends to fulfill its tax obligations, it fulfills them. If the BES or the tax authorities detect tax evasion, the taxpayer receives a notification, pays taxes and compensation to the budget and legally avoids criminal liability,” said Oleksiy Shevchuk.
He emphasized that scholars, lawyers and judges should be involved in the preparation of amendments to the legislation. The Ukrainian National Lobbyists Association also joins the initiative.
In addition, Oleksiy Shevchuk positively assessed the revised draft law on regulating the circulation of nicotine pouches and snus among minors, emphasizing the importance of protecting the rights of children and adolescents in the field of health care.
