The International Labor Conference is the world’s largest global platform for discussing labor, social policy, labor market development and social dialogue between governments, employers and trade unions. This year’s conference is attended by representatives of 187 ILO member states.

Over the course of two weeks, delegates will discuss key challenges of the modern labor market, the impact of digitalization and artificial intelligence on employment, the development of the platform economy, gender equality in the labor sphere, and mechanisms for strengthening social dialogue at the national and international levels.

The conference traditionally opened at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. At the initial stage, participants approve the agenda, form specialized committees and begin preparing for the main discussions and negotiations.

Particular attention of the participants of this year’s conference was drawn to the report of the ILO Director-General Gilbert Hungbo “A Moment of Choice: Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Decent Work”, dedicated to the impact of artificial intelligence technologies on the labor market and the need to develop modern approaches to ensuring decent work in the context of global digital transformation.

For Ukraine, participation in the International Labor Conference is of particular importance. Despite the challenges posed by the full-scale war, Ukraine continues to actively participate in international social dialogue and defend the interests of Ukrainian workers, employers and businesses at the international level.

The Ukrainian National Lobbyists Association pays special attention to the development of the modern labor market, regulation of new forms of employment, digital transformation of the economy, and creation of transparent mechanisms of interaction between business, government, and civil society.
