Oleksandr Leshchenko took part in the EBA Lobbying Gathering: UNLA strengthens professional dialogue on the formation of the lobbying industry
Oleksandr Leshchenko, Managing Partner of LESHCHENKO & PARTNERS and a member of the Board of the Ukrainian National Lobbyists Association, took part in the EBA Lobbying Gathering, an annual closed event of the European Business Association that brings together business leaders, representatives of government institutions and experts in public affairs.
For UNLA, participation in such events is not just a presence, but a real influence on the formation of professional standards and the development of a new lobbying industry in Ukraine.
Why it is important for Ukraine and business
Ukraine is moving to the European model of transparent lobbying. This means systemic changes in the interaction between business, government and public institutions. The new legislative environment creates a favorable environment for business:
- a civilized tool for protecting and promoting interests;
- predictable regulatory processes;
- the opportunity to be involved in the development of policies that shape the market.
During the EBA Lobbying Gathering, business representatives discussed tools for interacting with the state, new transparency rules, and expectations from future regulatory decisions.
Oleksandr Leshchenko’s position
“Ukrainian businesses need not just channels of interaction with the state, but clear and legal mechanisms to influence decisions that determine their future. This is what lobbying is all about. We need to move from ad hoc communications to professional and transparent procedures,” emphasized Mr. Leshchenko.
The role of UNLA
The Ukrainian National Lobbyists Association will continue to participate in key professional discussions, contributing to the development:
- a high-quality regulatory ecosystem,
- recognized standards of transparent lobbying,
- effective mechanisms for business participation in public policy making.
LESHCHENKO & PARTNERS, in cooperation with the UNBA, will continue to support businesses in implementing a new model of interaction with the state that opens up new opportunities and strengthens Ukraine’s economic capacity.
