UNLA is initiating the creation of a working group to consolidate draft laws regarding vehicles for veterans

The Ukrainian National Lobbyists Association (UNLA) has officially appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Ministry of Veterans Affairs with a proposal to establish a separate working group to comprehensively review the “One Car for One Veteran” initiative.

In its statement, the UNLA emphasizes the need to establish a working group under the relevant tax committee, with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, veterans’ organizations, members of parliament, and the Association itself. The key goal is to consolidate all existing legislative initiatives into a single, coordinated bill.

This approach will make it possible to:
— take into account the positions of all stakeholders;
— avoid fragmentation of legislative initiatives;
— develop a single, coordinated vision;
— expedite the document’s passage through the committee and its submission to parliament for consideration.

UNLA emphasizes that consolidating draft laws is the most effective approach for maintaining a balance of interests among all parties, particularly veterans.

According to the proposed plan, a working group is to be established and begin its work by the end of September. A single, comprehensive bill is expected to be drafted and submitted to parliament for consideration in October.

We emphasize that the issue of supporting veterans should not be used as a tool for political publicity or competition between individual initiatives. Instead, coordinated efforts are needed to ensure tangible results.

It is also proposed to involve the State Regulatory Service and relevant expert institutions in the process to provide opinions on the draft law’s compliance with the regulatory framework and budgetary mechanisms.

UNLA also advocates for veterans themselves to be represented within the working group, so that they can directly influence the final draft of the legislative amendments.
