Business Lobbying: The Dnipropetrovsk Chapter of the Ukrainian National Lobbyists Association Professionals met with lawyers from the “Allo” Corporation
Representatives of the Dnipropetrovsk chapter of the Ukrainian National Lobbyists Association held a meeting with lawyers from the “Allo” Corporation. The discussion focused on the legal mechanisms for representing the commercial interests of businesses in the lawmaking process.
Allo Corporation has been operating in the Ukrainian market since 1998—for 28 years. The company’s activities include the retail sale of electronics and home appliances, the development of an online marketplace, and the distribution of products from international brands.
At the meeting, participants reviewed the requirements of the Law of Ukraine “On Lobbying,” the procedure for obtaining the status of a lobbying entity and registering with the NACP Transparency Registry, reporting obligations, and the restrictions established by law. Using examples from Ukrainian and foreign companies, they examined how businesses use lobbying to represent their own commercial interests.
They also discussed involving lobbying experts in the preparation of proposals to improve legislation and in presenting the business community’s position during the consideration of bills at meetings of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine committees, in accordance with the procedure established by law.
The meeting served as a platform for professional dialogue on the role of the business community in shaping regulatory frameworks. Such collaboration will make it possible to identify regulatory issues and propose legal mechanisms for resolving them while taking business needs into account, as well as to involve lawyers in the process of registering and establishing themselves as lobbying specialists. After all, right now, as this new profession is taking shape in Ukraine, this is the easiest time to do so.
