NALU continues dialogue with the National Police on amendments to legislation

You have to talk to the police. It is not more convenient to remain silent – it is more correct to speak up

Today, a dangerous trend is emerging in Ukrainian society: instead of institutional dialog, there is emotional hate, and instead of systemic change, there is public harassment. It looks like a reaction, but in fact it undermines the state’s ability to act.

The National Police is not an abstract body. It is a key element of security in the rear, while the Armed Forces of Ukraine provide security on the front line. And any imbalance within the law enforcement system inevitably affects the whole country.

That is why the Ukrainian National Lobbyists Association continues to work systematically with the National Police of Ukraine in the format of round tables and practical workshops.

This is not about “support” or “criticism”. It is about responsible interaction.

The goal of this work is to create a permanent professional platform where:

  • law enforcement officers hear real problems of law enforcement;
  • lobbyists convey the position of criminal procedure practitioners;
  • specific changes to legislation are being worked out, not declarations.

It is about institutionalizing the dialogue, which is critically lacking in Ukraine.

Because the truth is:

  • Without lawyers, the system loses its balance,
  • without the police, there is no controllability,
  • without citizens, there is no legitimacy.

And if this triangle – a citizen, a lawyer, and the law enforcement system – stops interacting, we get chaos, not reform.

Haight does not reform institutions. They are reformed only by systematic, professional and often complex communication.

That is why the Ukrainian National Lobbyists Association will continue to work with law enforcement agencies on comprehensive changes to regulatory acts – based on practice, law and a healthy balance of interests.

Because a strong state is not a state without criticism.

This is a state where there is someone to talk to and how to talk to each other.
