The Higher School of Lobbying, the first Ukrainian center for training professional lobbyists of international level, was opened in Kyiv
Today, the Higher School of Lobbying, a new educational center and structural unit of the National Association of Lobbyists of Ukraine, was officially opened in the capital to form a professional lobbying environment in accordance with European and American standards. The event was held at the Hyatt Regency Kyiv and gathered more than 100 guests.
The event was attended by about 50 Ukrainian MPs, representatives of the diplomatic corps, international business, and academic institutions. The opening ceremony was special because it was the first time that American and British lobbyists officially joined the educational process in Ukraine. They will teach together with Ukrainian experts and scholars, forming a modern school of lobbying and advocacy.
“Lobbying should become an integral part of investment management in Ukraine. It is a tool for public policy, business development and international partnership. We are creating a civilized market for lobbying services that will work transparently and in the interests of the state,” the organizers said.
During the opening, the flagship international program Kyiv-Brussels-Washington was presented . Its goal is to train experts capable of effectively representing and promoting Ukraine’s interests in European and American institutions, building partnerships with international companies, government agencies, and think tanks.
The program’s key focuses:
- EU, US and UK lobbying standards;
- advocacy campaigns and work with EU institutions and the US Congress;
- GR, public affairs and international communication;
- ethical standards and transparency;
- lobbying as a tool for attracting investment and economic development.
The opening of the Higher School of Lobbying is another step of Ukraine towards implementing modern European approaches to the interaction between the state, business and society, as well as towards building a professional lobbying infrastructure in the context of European integration.
