Ukrainian expertise in the field of compliance has gained international recognition
On June 25, 2026, in London, Ukrainian Modern Digital Science (UMDS) received international recognition at the ICA Compliance Awards Europe 2026. UMDS expert Mykhailo Tiutin was named the winner in the Financial Crime Prevention Leader/MLRO of the Year category.
This award serves as an important testament to the high level of Ukrainian expertise in the areas of compliance, anti-money laundering, countering the financing of terrorism, financial crimes, digital assets, blockchain analytics, and financial security.
The role of Tetiana Dmytrenko—Doctor of Economics, professor, chair of Ukrainian Modern Digital Science, and expert at APEX Ukraine: Compliance & Integrity Council—deserves special attention.
The collaboration between UMDS and UNLA is aimed at developing an evidence-based approach to lawmaking, modernizing the regulatory environment, harmonizing Ukrainian legislation with international standards, and implementing modern digital tools for public policy.
It was precisely this cross-sector collaboration that laid the groundwork for the development of APEX Ukraine: Compliance & Integrity Council—Ukraine’s first cross-sector expert business council on compliance and integrity, initiated by the National Association of Lobbyists of Ukraine.
Tetyana Dmytrenko’s membership in APEX Ukraine strengthens the Council’s expertise in the areas of financial monitoring, sanctions compliance, digital asset analysis, risk assessment, blockchain analytics, and fostering a culture of integrity in the public and private sectors.
The international recognition of UMDS demonstrates that Ukrainian experts are not only integrating into the global compliance community but are also actively participating in shaping the new architecture of global financial security.
The Ukrainian National Lobbyists Association, by expanding its cooperation with UMDS and initiating the creation of APEX Ukraine, continues to establish professional platforms to strengthen integrity, transparency, and expert dialogue among business, government, academia, and civil society.
At the same time, the Association’s experts are working on developing guidelines for all participants in these processes to monitor shadow lobbying, which is intended to serve as an additional tool for increasing transparency, preventing covert influence, and establishing ethical rules for interaction in the field of interest representation.
