The Ukrainian National Lobbyists Association held a working meeting to finalize the professional standards for lobbyists
On July 15, 2026, the Ukrainian National Lobbyists Association held an online working meeting to discuss proposals and amendments to the draft professional standard “Lobbying Professional (Lobbyist).”
The meeting was attended by the Association’s leadership, members of the relevant working group, lawyers, academics, and experts with practical experience in representing interests and interacting with public authorities.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the structure of the draft professional standard, the educational and professional training requirements for lobbyists, and the list of necessary competencies, job functions, and practical skills. Special attention was paid to issues of professional ethics, integrity, accountability, and adherence to the principles of transparency in the lobbying process.
The participants presented their own proposals for clarifying certain provisions of the document and aligning its content with the practical needs of the professional community. It was emphasized that the professional standard should not create unnecessary barriers, but rather establish clear criteria for professional training and the proper conduct of lobbying activities.
Based on the results of the meeting, the participants’ suggestions will be organized and used during the further refinement of the draft professional standard.
UNLA will continue to bring together experts, legal professionals, academics, and the business community to establish transparent, ethical, and professional lobbying rules. The Association’s activities are aimed at developing civilized advocacy, strengthening the rule of law, and fostering open dialogue between the government, business, and society.
